A Refreshing Approach to Efficiency
/
At times, these may seem like daunting challenges, but Beacon has developed a comprehensive set of fully customizable solutions that can effectively support each trading partner in all of its unique glory. Here are three ways that Beacon’s suite of applications helps you clear all the hurdles.
Trading Partner Customizations
Included in the SpyGlass suite, HIPAA Director, is Beacon’s all-in-one EDI gateway & scheduler that directly connects with vendor partners to help you securely automate transactions. HIPAA Director supports the standards but allows you to start from a generic implementation. From there, you may tweak it to accommodate the trading partner you’re faced with at any given moment. Additionally, you can create unlimited variations of standard transactions, none of which have to affect the capabilities of the base, generic transaction. Each of these can be put into action using a wide range of supported protocols, with configurable settings for easy re-use.
Unique Scheduled Events
Our scheduler allows you the flexibility to set your transactions to run automatically, on a recurring weekly schedule, a recurring monthly schedule, a one-time basis, or any other timetable you can imagine. If you can envision it, SpyGlass can deliver it.
Unlimited One-Time, Any-Time Events
The system offers the flexibility to enter an unlimited number of one-time transactions, each with a specific time and date. Even if the previously scheduled transactions haven’t run, SpyGlass allows additional future dates to be added.
Recurring Weekly Events
The recurring weekly scheduler provides the ability to set regular, repeatable events throughout an entire week, business week, single day, or any combination of the three, all in a single click.
Uniquely Set Schedules for Events
These unique, repeatable scheduling options offer the customization to schedule events from every start-up to a recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. With extensive controls that allow you to specify first, last, etc. in conjunction with the business day or named day, you can see how much of a time-saver this helpful tool can be. For instance, first business day of the quarter.
Trigger Events
Not everything fits into the world of scheduled events. Sometimes you may want to trigger an event only when a specific condition has been met. For instance, if you’ve received a claim with an accident code, the system can automatically generate customized correspondence based on that real world event. Then, in a scheduled batch event, the system sends the letter to the member/employee/patient that requests a statement on the accident.
The dynamic correspondence module within SpyGlass generates letters and follow-up correspondence based on the templates and schedules you control. Integrating with powerful tools that you already know, like Microsoft Word, the system makes it easy to send out fully customized documents based on templates with formatting options that Word supports. Correspondence can be generated automatically, across a nearly unlimited variety of conditions, based on a wide variety of criteria. The system can include barcodes or QR codes that allow you to automate return handling of documents that SpyGlass produces, and automatically match them to the key record types. Thus, claims pended for the accident inquiry letter can be moved to a higher priority queue once the letter actually makes its way back to the system.
Repetitive automated letters can cause a problem if they are triggered for multiple claims received on the same day, or on successive days—for example, for other claims related to the same accident. If each claim ends up generating the same accident inquiry letter, you might end up wasting money on printing and postage, but worst of all, creating a bad impression on your insured member or employee. For cases like this, the SpyGlass correspondence module stores a user-defined quiet period for each template, suppressing the production of a letter if that template has already been used within an x number of days. The system then auto-generates follow-up letters after a specified number of days a letter has gone unresponded, while also respecting the defined quiet period.
